Attendance Policy

• Tardiness: Students arriving late must report to the administration office before proceeding to class. Repeated tardiness may result in disciplinary action.
Academic Integrity Policy
• Honesty: Students must uphold the highest standards of honesty in all academic work. Cheating, plagiarism, and other forms of academic dishonesty are strictly prohibited.
• Consequences: Violations of academic integrity will result in disciplinary actions, which may include detention, suspension, or expulsion, depending on the severity of the offense.
Code of Conduct
• Respect and Courtesy: All members of the school community are expected to treat each other with respect and courtesy. Bullying, harassment, and discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated.

Uniform Policies

Parental Involvement Policy

Privacy Policy
• Confidentiality: The school respects the privacy of students and their families. Personal information will be handled with the utmost confidentiality and used solely for school-related purposes.
• Data Protection: The school ensures that all student records are securely stored and protected from unauthorized access.

Recommendations to the Parents
1. Any Inquiry regarding academic achievement or behavior of the child, may be addressed to the Deputy heads/ coordinator/ class teacher on all week days with prior appointment.
2. All correspondence should be carried out through the school office. When writing to the school regarding the child, parents should mention the name, grade and division and which the child is studying.
3. The Parent’s signature in the diary would indicate that the rules and remarks entered by the school authorities have been noted.
4. Parents are specially requested to notify the administration office of any change of address
by filling the form given in the school diary and submitting the same in the office.
5. Parents are requested to refrain from giving large amount of cash as pocket money to their children as we wish to inculcate among them, the value for money.
6. Parents and guardians are reminded that without their help and Co-operation not much can be expected from the efforts made in the school to mould the child’s character. They are, therefore, earnestly requested to encourage regularity and discipline and the child. They
have to ensure that the practice work / homework is completed on time. Children should be encouraged to attend school in proper uniform with all the books required for the day’s
work.
7. When communicating with the Principal, parents are requested to mention in their letters the class and section of their children.
8. Parents/guardians or other person should not visit the class or meet the teachers without obtaining the approval of the principal. Parents can meet teachers only on second saturday
or at the day end by prior appointment. A permission slip must be obtained before meeting the teachers.
9. It is compulsory for every student to participate in all the extra- curricular activities of the school unless prior permission is taken from the principal for genuine reasons.
10. Parents will be invited for a conference with the teachers (PTMs). Please attend the same to discuss the progress of your ward.
11. Parents are requested to examine the progress report carefully and see that your ward makes special efforts to improve in the deficient subjects in consultation with the teachers. School provides Remedial and extra classes to improve the performance of students who requires such focus. 12. Parents will be invited for Orientations & Annual days. Please attend the same to encourage your ward’s performance and see their overall development.
13. Mobile Phones, FM Radios, Ipod, Cameras and other gadgets are not allowed in the school campus for both students and teachers. Once these instruments are confiscated the same will not be returned in any case, Breach of this rule will invite confiscation of the instrument without notice and disciplinary action against the affected by the school authorities, therefore parents/guardians are advised to keep a check on their children. The
parents/guardians are also requested to switch off the mobiles if they happen to visit the school during working hours.
14. Students are not allowed to bring any fancy articles like pens with torch, stickers,
comics etc. to school. Violation of this rule will involve confiscation of the article.
15. Parents are requested not to stop/Park their cars or horn in front of the School gate, to avoid traffic congestion.
Parent Teacher Meeting
* The PTM is a platform for interaction between the parents and the teachers, to review the child's
academic and other progress.
* PTM will be held twice in a unit.
* Parents are requested not to remain absent for the PTM as it is an ideal opportunity to discuss your child's strength and weakness with the teaching staff.
* Parents are requested to attend the PTM together at the given time and date assigned to them.
* Parents are requested to adhere to the time slot allotted for PTM’S and the PTM will not be rescheduled for the same.
* Besides the scheduled PTMs, parents can take an appointment and meet the Co-ordinators or the
concerned teaching faculty to discuss any issue regarding their child.
* Teachers may also call parents if there is a need to discuss any area of concern with respect to the child.
* Parents must also note that it is compulsory for children to attend the PTMs in school uniform.
Withdrawal of a student from school
1. Students shall be liable to dismissal from a school of any of the following grounds:
a. Continuous lack of progress in class and those who are detained twice in the same class.
b. Acts of indiscipline and insubordination .
c. Absence for more than 7 days without application and information.
d. Immoral acts stealing, damaging or misbehavior.
e. Parent’s misbehavior with teachers and school management.
f. Conviction by a court of law for any criminal offence.
2. Parents will be required to submit a written application and the prescribed format available at the front office, along with the original receipts of the refundable deposits, if any, to obtain the leaving certificate and deposits.
3. In case of loss of original receipt, parents have to submit and indemnity bond and the prescribed
format.
4. The school leaving certificate can be obtained only after full and final settlement with the school.
5. The school leaving certificate can be denied if any of the dues are pending.
HOUSE SYSTEM
The House system aims to give students an identity and sense of pride in a supportive and nurturing environment. The objectives of a House System are to inculcate the following in the students:

* A sense of responsibility to implement all tasks earnestly and discharge them well
* Values of teamwork and camaraderie

* Qualities of self-confidence and respect for views and opinions of others

* Respect for seniors, elders, teachers and a caring altitude towards juniors and fraternity towards all
* Learn to live, endure and enjoy together and develop a degree of sensitivity towards the feelings and needs of others.
1.Blue House: Serenity House
Serenity represents calmness and tranquility, qualities often associated with the color
blue.
2.Green House: Harmony House Harmony signifies balance and unity, mirroring the harmony found in nature, which is abundant in green.
3.Red House: Vitality House
Vitality conveys energy, passion, and vibrancy, characteristics that align with the dynamic color red.
4.Yellow House: Radiance House Radiance embodies brightness, optimism, and enlightenment, akin to the cheerful hue of yellow.
These names not only reflect the assigned colors but also evoke positive attributes and values that can inspire students within each house.
Health & Safety Policy
• Wellness: The school is committed to promoting the health and wellness of all students. Regular health check-ups and vaccination records must be submitted to the school office.
• Emergency Procedures: Emergency drills will be conducted periodically to ensure that students and staff are prepared for any emergency situations. Students must follow the instructions of school personnel during these drills.
• Medication: Students requiring medication during school hours must provide a written note from a parent or guardian along with a doctor's prescription. Medication will be administered by the school nurse.
Admission Policy
• Application Process: Admissions are based on academic performance, entrance test results, and an interview. The school admits students without discrimination based on race, colour, religion, nationality, or gender.
• Documentation: Required documents for admission include the completed application form, previous academic records, birth certificate, and proof of residence.
Our rules of Discipline
1. The scholastic year of the school is from 1st April to 31st March
2. Students should arrive at the school 5 minute before the first bell rung, anyone who is late to
school for more than once in a month may not be admitted to class without the permission of the
principal.
3. It is strictly compulsory for every child to come to school in full school uniform, children
without the proper uniform will not be admitted into their classes.
4. At the sound of the first bell all should assemble in front of the school assembly platform for
prayer from where they go in silence to their respective classrooms after assembly.
5. The school does not accept any responsibility i.e. for the loss of student's books, stationary, pen,
money etc. Each student is responsible for his/her on belongings.
6. Student must not scratch or mark the school desk for defense the school property in anyway
any damage done to the school property will be heavily fined from the defaulters any willful
damage will be further punished by a suitable penalty damage done or noticed should be reported
at once to the coordinators/ in charges.
7. Pupils are not allowed to tear any page from this Diary. Also, they may not write anything not
connected with schoolwork in the diary. Any breach of this rule will be dealt accordingly.
8. No Student of the school is allowed to leave the school compound without the written
permission of the principal.
9. Habitual stealing, lying, bullying in any from using unfair means in examinations and
homework or wilful breach of school regulations may lead to suspension or even expulsion of the
student from the school.
10. All the students are expected to speak in English at school to improve their English
communication skill as SSOE is an English Medium School.
11. Students and parents are requested note to offer any presents or gifts to teachers.
12. Students are forbidden to bring crackers explosives and other dangerous material to school.
13. Any form of abuse maybe verbal, mental, physical or any means of bullying of victimization as
strictly forbidden.
14. Parents to ensure that their ward carries all his/her belongings to school including tiffin, water
bottles, stationery box etc. the school will not receive anything at the school gates after the student
has entered the school premises.
15. The school or staff will not be held responsible for any injury damage or loss of what so ever
nature caused to the student inside/outside school due to his/ her own act or expression.
16. Students are not allowed to drive motorized vehicle such as cars, scooters and motorcycles
within or outside the school.
17. Students are expected to maintain a high standard in their general behaviour and manner of
speech, improper behaviour and language will not be accepted.
Identification Card
1.It is mandatory for every child to wear ID card at all times as soon as they board the bus and enter the school premises.
2. The ID card will be used to monitor and track the movement of the children and the school premises as well as in the buses.
3. At the child misplaces his/ her ID card parents need to send a diary note along with
the charges of rupees 500/- for a duplicate card.
4. It will take approximate 10 days to re issued a new ID card.
Transport Facilities
Violation of the following rules will result in an immediate recommendation to deny school
transport facility.
a) The Bus number and the pick- up point will be mentioned in the ID card of the students availing
School Transport facility. Possession of such ID card, entitles a student to travel only on a
designated bus to and from a designated stop before and after the regular academic day. This ID
card will not be accepted in any other bus.
b) Students may not get on or off the Bus at any location other than their pre- defined stops.
c) Students should be at the Bus stops at least 5 minutes prior to the arrival of the Bus. In case of continued late arrival to the bus stop will result in disciplinary action and the services may also be
stopped.
d) Parent/Guardian will be required to pay for the damage/s caused to the School Bus by their
wards if thus reported by the bus crew.
e) Students should not indulge in intimidating or threatening anyone in the Bus. They must not
take out their hands and legs. Activities like fighting, slapping, hitting, poking, shoving and pulling
here etc. are against the School Culture and therefore must be avoided.
Home Assignments
* Home assignments help to reinforce work done in the class and allows the teacher to know whether the child has understood the concept taught in the class.
* It prepares the child to become more responsible and submit class assignments as per deadlines.
* Parents must note that home assignments are strictly to be completed at home and not in class.
* Parents are discouraged from doing their child's home assignments themselves. However, they may provide assistance.
Emergency Closing
* In case of any untoward political unrest, strike, curfew or weather related situation such as flood etc. parents are advised not to send their ward to school.
* In cases where such a situation arises during school hours, the students will be kept in school with adequate supervision until their parents collect them.
* Due to network congestion you might not receive the message (sms) sent to you by school.
* We advise parents not to panic and put themselves at risk, in attempting to fetch their child from the school.
* School buses will not ply in case of emergency.
EXAMINATION, PROMOTIONS & REPORTS
1.There will be three Academic terms for the scholastic year and they shall be from April to August,
the second will be from Sept. to Dec. and the third in Jan. to March. Promotion is based on the day to day work of students throughout the year and also on the performance in the terminal examinations.
2. The weightage of terminal examinations will be as per ICSE.
3. Reports about the children's performance in these assessment will be issued to the parents after the completion of each term. They are requested to examine these and guide them accordingly.
4. The presence of the student at these Examinations is very important. If a student is unable to be present for any health reasons, he/she must submit a medical certificate failing which he/she would
not be considered present as far as the tabulation of marks is concerned.
5. If a student is prevented by illness from appearing for an examination he/she will not be given another examination. His/her promotion will be decided on the strength of his/her performance at other examinations.
6. Failure in any one of these subjects i.e. English, Hindi, Science or Mathematics in the average of all the exams renders a pupil liable to repeat his/her class.
7. However, a student, who passes in the above mentioned subjects in the overall of the main exams,
but fails in any of these subjects in the Final will also be considered failed in that subject. In other words passing in all the main subjects of the Final Examination is a must.
8. Should a pupil pass in all the above mentioned main subjects but fails in any three of the remaining subject is also liable to fail. The minimum marks required for passing in each subject and
the aggregate shall be 33%.
9. Absence at Quarterly and Half Yearly Examination may debar a student from appearing at the Final Examination.
10. The Principal reserves the right to debar a student from appearing at the Final Examination.
11. No pupil will be permitted to appear for any examination unless all dues have been remitted. These dues must be paid at least one week before the commencement of the examination.
12. Absence from one or more subjects involves the loss of marks for those subjects and excludes the
student from being reckoned in the order of merit in the examination.
13. For sufficient reasons such as unsatisfactory progress in studies, insufficient attendance, serious misconduct etc., a pupil may be debarred from an examination.
14. 80% attendance is compulsory to enable a student to sit for an Examination.
15. Wilful breach of any of the regulations for the conduct of the examination is punishable with expulsion from the examination room or if discovered subsequently, cancellation of the paper. In all cases the decision of the Principal shall be final.
16. Promotion will be granted on the basis of the whole year's work. The general criterion is that whether a student has grasped the subject matter sufficiently well to follow the subject in the higher class easily or not. The decision of the Principal in these matters is final and uncontestable.
17. A pupil who fails and is found to be overage for his class may also be asked to leave the school.
18. A pupil appearing at any of the Board Examinations and failing to make the required mark may
be asked to leave the school and no second chance may be granted.
19. Results once declared are final. Answer copies of the Final Examinations will not be shown.
20. Scrutiny of results will be done on payment of Rs.100/- per subject. This sum should be paid along with an application.
21. Time limit for application of scrutiny of results is 48 hours from the time of the declaration of the results, after which no request will be entertained. The answer papers will not be scrutinized
before the student, parent or any representative. In fact only the total marks of that answer sheet will be checked by the School office.
22. Internal Assessment/Examinations:
(a) Attendance in all the examinations will be compulsory for all the classes. Presence in the
examinations will qualify the student for the mark. No mark will be awarded if a student is absent
in any of these examinations for any reason.
(b) Copy checking by the Principal will be done only on the prescribed day. No student should take leave without prior permission. If a student falls ill on that day, any member of the
family can bring his/her copies to school for checking on the same day. Copies will not be checked on any other day without Principal's permission. Copies without Principal's seal will not be
awarded marks.
(c) In case of emergency, date of oral exams and practical’s can be changed only if permission is obtained before or on the very day from the Principal, by submitting an application
explaining the reason for it
