Franchise Tax Board's Enterprise Procedures & Training Program within the Enterprise Talent Development Section is looking for knowledgeable and dynamic new team members to support the development and delivery of enterprise training.

The incumbent(s) will be responsible for assisting with the development, maintenance, and delivery of Enterprise Tax System (ETS) training modules. This requires the incumbent(s) to review and monitor system changes, analyze to determine impacts to materials and customers, and then develop effective and appropriate training content to be delivered. The incumbent will utilize various resources to ensure materials are accurate, effective, and engaging. Additionally, the incumbent will help promote an environment and atmosphere of teamwork, collaboration, and cooperation consistent with the department's values at all levels accross different divisions within the department.

Working Conditions

  • This position is eligible for limited remote working within California based on departmental guidelines and operational need. FTB has a minimum in-office requirement of two days per week for all positions including those that are eligible for telework. This is subject to change.

  • Ability to analyze personal income tax and business entity accounts
  • Working knowledge and experience using Enterprise Tax Systems (ETS) which include, Taxpayer Folder (TPF), Case Management (CM), Return Analysis (RA), Enterprise Noticing System (ENS),Taxpayer Information (TI), Business Entity Tax System (BETS), Accounts Receivable Collection System (ARCS), Professional Audit Support System (PASS), and Integrated Nonfiler Compliance (INC) 
  • Experience developing and/or delivering formal classroom style user training
  • Experience developing engaging and effective training materials and Interactive Computer Based Training modules to support large audiences
  • Strong collaboration, negotiation, and communication skills 
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholder groups 
  • Experience facilitating engaging and effective meetings with various customers 
  • Experience analyzing and providing customer service for Personal Income Tax (PIT) or Business Entities (BE) accounts
  • Strong knowledge of Franchise Tax Board's (FTB) organization, operations, and systems 
  • Strong knowledge of departmental policies, principles, practices, and procedures 
  • Strong knowledge of Enterprise Procedures Manual (EPM), the update process, and how local business area procedures interact with EPM 
  • Project management/project lead experience 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner to obtain understanding and gain buy in 
  • Ability to evaluate system and process updates to determine business process impacts 
  • Familiar with applying department writing and accessibility standards 
  • Ability to foster cooperative working relationships 
  • Ability to remain flexible with competing priorities and effectively prioritize competing demands 
  • Proficient with MS Office programs like Word, Excel, Sharepoint, and Forms 
  • Familiar with enterprise software like RoboHelp, Adobe Captivate, MS Project, and TFS
